This Perfect Day by Ira Levin is one of my favourite novels in this genre. It’s not often mentioned in public discourse, so thank you for the reminder. I must re-read this wonderful book.

Nicely done, Jon. The sane people in this world understand that facts, science, logic, etc. no longer resonate with the majority of the world’s insane population (or are simply ignored by the psychopathic criminals who run our lives – our politicians, the bankers, the media, etc.). Such a sad state of affairs, but true nonetheless. So one must resort to irony and sarcasm to make a point. Indeed, what has happened to us?

You mention micro-apartments for the serfs. Makes me think of that time months ago where the dear and caring Mayor Mike Bloomberg had his stump speech about the magnificent micro-apartment initiative he had spear-headed in NYC, boasting about apartments which would top out at 300 SF maximum. This coming from a man who’s NYC apartment is around 12,500 SF and getting bigger all the time as he continues to buy out his Upper East Side neighbor’s adjacent apartments.

For the serfs, search engine: Mayor Bloomberg Proposes 300-Square-Foot ‘Micro’ Apartments For New York City Singles.

For the elites, search engine: Bloomberg Buys Out Neighbors on East 79th St.

That would make Bloomberg’s apartment an average of 41 times the size of those he proposes for us.

A rationale, sane, logical mind might detect an off the charts level of insanity, hypocrisy and incredulity at this story – just one of the many in the Matrix that is our current reality. But in continuing along with the theme of your post here, I say, “What’s the big deal? Bloomberg is a leader, a caring, thoughtful, and empathetic one at that. We should be applauding him in initiatives like this, where we can be assured that he has the best interests of US in his mind. And don’t forget, he’s also one of the biggest proponents in the country of taking our guns away, and as you rightfully explained above, Jon, this is being done in our best interest. And . . . “.
